about

This will be my last official release as LMRNCE.
For those of you who don't know, I've gone by the alias of LMRNCE from 2015 to 2021.

I've been making music since around 2010. I started when I was in High School. I remember my school had a guitar club, but I wasn't really a guitarist at all. I was a pianist and the only reason I played piano was as a supplement because what I really wanted to do was write songs. So another teacher that I had decided to start a songwriting club instead. There I met some really cool dudes who brought in their own microphone to the class, and were making Hip-Hop and R&B songs.
I grew up with Rock and Metal, but around that time I was just starting to get into Hip-Hop, especially with artists like Drake coming out, introducing a melodic flow with a (at the time) new crossover between Hip-Hop and R&B. And then in 2008, Kanye dropped 808s & Heartbreak, and that changed everything for me.
That interesting mix between minimalistic, primal beats, and auto-tuned vocals with a focus on lyrics and vocal melodies was exactly what I wanted to do, and exactly what I was feeling at the time.
At the time I really wasn't very good at beat Production, so I would browse the usual websites and look for beats to use, I was a broke high school student so I was just releasing the songs for free and making the songs out of passion and to share with my friends.

To make a longer story slightly shorter, after a handful of free downloadable mixtapes, in 2012 I was finally ready to take on the monumental task of making an (almost) entirely self produced album that I would be able to publish and put on iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp, which at the time were pretty much your only options because the other streaming services were just starting to take off.

After about 9 months of producing and singing and recording in my bedroom, I finally had an album that I was genuinely proud of at the time. I did end up publishing that album, but when I changed my name from my real name to an artist name, I took down almost everything associated with my original name, including that album, because what I was working on was so different and contemporary that I didn't want people going back and hearing the original tracks I had recorded.

I wasn't particularly embarrassed by the tracks, although there are a few songs that could have definitely been cut from that album, I just didn't want to be associated with low production values and very average songwriting that I was outputting at the time.

That album came out in 2013, and it is now 2023, 10 years since I released that album. I think it's only logical that I close this chapter with what essentially began it.
This isn't the entire album, but these are what I consider the highlights of that project that I set out to do in 2012.
I've marked them all as demos because I consider the production value to be too low to be considered legitimate songs, but this is what my production and songwriting skills were at in 2013.

I say goodbye to "LMRNCE," and hello to "onimu$ha" as I step into a new musical world that is both exciting with new innovations and my experiences from the last 13 years, as well as slightly nerve-wracking and scary as I watch these new, well-deserving, talented people blossom around me while hoping someone hears my music, and I get the chance to blossom as well, while touching people's hearts & souls along the way.
